The Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Students for Smiles Club and the Cambridge Public Library are hosting a free community event on oral health. Attendees will learn how to brush and floss the right way through a short talk and hands-on practice. The program will also share simple tips for preventing common dental problems and explain when to see a dentist. A free oral hygiene kit and local dental care resources will be available for everyone. Registration required.

Children and their grown-ups are invited to this special kid-centered cookbook club! This month, we're celebrating Picnic Food! Bring a dish to share, or just come to talk about your experience with a chosen cookbook. No need to bring a dish to join. Visit Valente for a selection of cookbooks that are ready to check out. Join us September 24 for a family-friendly celebration of a new solar project!

In stressful times, collage can be a powerful practice for well-being and resilience. Join local artist Elena Stone to create collages in a relaxing, fun, and reflective community setting. We will use simple materials and a lightly structured process to promote creativity and connection. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own collage papers (e.g. old magazines, calendars, wrapping paper, etc.) to share. Registration is encouraged but not required.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of fun, creativity, and community while a local artist guides us step-by-step through the process of painting a beautiful art piece, suitable for hanging on your door or wall. Tea and light refreshments provided. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Old clothing recommended, as acrylic paint can stain. Seating is limited to 8. Registration is required and will open November 24.

Come to the Library for games and a different activity each week! Kids of all ages can hang out and do crafts or STEAM activities. No registration required. This week we will be building with LEGO and other toys!

Middle Schoolers and teens can visit the Library and help us decorate for Pride Month! We will have craft supplies and decorations to help us celebrate. No registration is required. Snacks will be provided.

The Winter Classic 5K will take place on Sunday, December 8, starting at 9:30 a.m. at University Park Commons near Central Square, causing brief road closures and traffic impacts in the area.
