Fall season is in the air, here at the Library! This art class will be a hybrid of indoor and outdoor time. Allowing you to get up close with the trees and leaves to take artistic observations of your surroundings. All supplies will be provided but please bring any protective gear (long sleeves and sweaters) in the event of slightly cold weather. Registration is required.

Join us at the Central Square Branch Library for an informational session about kidney disease followed by a free kidney-focused screening and physician consultation. This program is in partnership with the Harvard Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) whose mission is to provide kidney focused health screenings and health education to underserved communities. Get creative after school! Decorate a paper stained glass suncatcher. Choose a dragon design from the Wings of Fire book series and hang in a window to let sunlight stream through. Recommended for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers.

Special Permit Application

Join the Cambridge YWCA, the Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commission, and the Central Square Branch Library for a screening of the short documentary Ephemera about Libby Bouvier's activist button collection. Libby Bouvier has spent most of her life collecting an archive of cause buttons and other "ephemera" from the women’s movement, the LGBT movement, and other radical causes she's been directly or indirectly involved with over the decades. This is a moving image portrait of her and her collection. Produced by Lily Bouvier. After the documentary screening, we'll have an opportunity to share about our own activism and to use the Library button makers. We'll have magazines, paper, markers, and more so you can make your own buttons to share your activism with the world! Get creative with us, and join other local activists!

Learn the basics of block printing by making your own one-color print using Legos! All materials are provided. LEGO pieces are choking hazards for young children. Recommended for ages 7 and up with a caregiver. This program can accommodate 15 printmakers and their caregiver. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. This program starts promptly and any unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting.

Celebrate the start of Women’s Business Month

Get creative after school! Decorate a blank notebook to use as your summer sketchbook, junk journal or reading log. Supplies may be limited. Recommended for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers.
