Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by making your own papel picado ("pecked paper") inspired by beautiful folk art examples from Mexico. We will provide the tissue paper and scissors, you bring your imagination! Recommended for children ages 7 years old and up and their caregivers. Registration is not required for this event.

Learn how to visually capture your own memoir or fictional creation in a short graphic novel through story planning, character development, and techniques for capturing emotions, motion, and time. Materials provided and no prior art or author experience needed! Registration is required, and registering for this session includes the following two Tuesdays 1/20, and 1/27. Get creative after school! We will use solar UV pony beads in a variety of projects. These special beads change color when exposed to ultraviolet sunlight. Recommended for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers.

Join instructor Ellen DeGenova, at the main branch park, to explore Tai Chi elements (without the complicated choreography). Tai Chi offers highly adaptable and accessible ways of moving for everyone. Being outdoors and learning together inspires a sense of well-being and community. A seated option is available. No experience necessary. In case of inclement weather, class will be held in the library’s Community Room.

Join us for a cozy craft at the O’Connell Branch! Take a moment to reflect on 2025 and create your own vision board for 2026. All materials will be provided. This is a drop-in event designed for all ages. No registration required.

Art on a nice Summer night? Nothing sounds better than that! Come to the Library and enjoy an art filled evening learning the techniques of printmaking. In partnership with artist Brooke Lambert, a professional printmaker and painter, she will take you through this guided art class. The library will provide all materials. Registration is required.
