The Cambridge Police Department is enhancing its ongoing traffic safety education and enforcement by participating in a Pedestrian/Bicyclist Safety Campaign in November. The state grant funds we secured will help add additional staffing resources throughout the city to promote additional safety. CPD works all year to educate and enforce traffic safety as we receive community feedback and input from other city agencies on potential issues. We also focus on areas where there have been traffic pattern changes.

The City of Cambridge is one of only 22 cities in the United States to earn the highest credit rating possible from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, and Fitch Ratings. The Baker-Polito Administration announced two new mass vaccination sites will open in Natick and Dartmouth. On Thursday, 74,000 appointments will be posted online for mass vaccination sites and pharmacies at locations statewide. The administration also announced that individuals who accompany someone age 75 or older to get a vaccine at a mass vaccination site may also schedule and receive their own vaccination on the same day.

The City of Cambridge and BlocPower announced a new pilot partnership to help multifamily buildings upgrade with energy efficiency, rooftop solar, and more comfortable, all-electric heating, cooling, and hot water systems. Supporting buildings in completing such upgrades is an important step in achieving the goals of Cambridge’s Net Zero Action Plan, including the city’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050.
