Start the year off right by getting to know Cambridge birds! All ages are welcome to join us as we observe birds at Fresh Pond, which provides habitat for many different species at all times of the year. This event will focus on birds that can be found in the winter in Cambridge, including several species of ducks, sparrows and more. We may also see some of our year-round resident birds, and we will discuss general birdwatching tips and learn more about the birds we share our outdoor spaces with. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. Please dress accordingly as we will be outside for the entire walk. Registration is required for this event. Combine your love for art and Spring, here at the Library! This art class will be a hybrid of indoor and outdoor time. Allowing you to get up close with trees and take artistic observations of your surroundings. All supplies will be provided but please bring any protective gear (hats, sunscreen, water) in the event of hot weather. Registration is required.

In this class, Cambridge Public Library staff will teach you how to look for books, films, and other resources available in the catalog. We will review how to perform basic and advanced searches, learn how to log in to your account with your library card, and better understand all of the formats and locations available in the catalog. Attendees should be comfortable using the computer and navigating the Internet independently, but no prior knowledge of the catalog is needed. Registration is required.

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THE WEATHER Come explore the nature in our urban backyard! We will take a leisurely walk as we observe and learn together about the animals and plants at Alewife Reservation. You are welcome to bring binoculars, magnifying glasses or any other observational tool. The paths and boardwalks are well maintained but can be muddy in places.
