Due to the popularity of Sifu Diaz's classes, we expect participants to attend all sessions and participation in this program will be decided by lottery.
Join us in this 10-week Tai Chi Paradigm practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine.
This is an in-person event in the Program Room at the Valente Branch.
Finalized dates will be announced closer to the program to accommodate early voting.
To enter the lottery, please register for the waitlist below. This waitlist will constitute the pool from which 15 names will be drawn randomly.
Registration will open Wednesday, July 22 at 9 am and close Wednesday, August 12 at 5PM. Participants selected will be notified on Friday, August 14.

Cambridge Public Library's O'Neill Branch is joining with The Ashland Public Library to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We're thrilled to welcome author and historian Gregory E. O'Malley who will be discussing his book, "The Escapes of David George: An Odyssey of Slavery, Freedom, and the American Revolution" which reveals a remarkable, untold experience of the American revolutionary period—a Black man’s quest for the freedom espoused by our Founders, but denied him and other enslaved people. We hope you can join us for this fascinating conversation!

Art on a nice Summer night? Nothing sounds better than that! Come to the Library and enjoy an art filled evening learning the techniques of watercolor painting. In partnership with artist Brooke Lambert, a professional printmaker and painter, she will take you through this guided art class. The library will provide all materials.
Artful Mechanisms with Playful Engineers (Valente)
Join us to celebrate Jasmine Warga's A Rover's Story, which tells the story of a rover's journey to Mars and the challenges it faces there. We will celebrate by building some artful mechanisms with Playful Engineers! Use simple machines to create mechanical automata and solve problems similar to those faced by rovers on Mars - using materials you could find around your own home. Registration is required.
This event is part of a special series promoting our 2026 Curious George Lecture (CGL) with Jasmine Warga, award-winning author of A Rover's Story, Other Words for Home, and many other popular children's books. Save the Date: the Lecture will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 6 p.m. at the Main Library.

Tween Book Group (Main)
Calling all middle grade readers! Meet up in the Curious George Room every third Thursday to eat pizza and talk about books with your friends. This month's book will be The First State of Being by Erin Entrada Kelly. Copies will be available at the children's desk on the third floor.
Snacks are provided. This group is for ages 10-12.
Participants should read the book ahead of this month’s meeting. Registration is required.
