6 - Mid-Cambridge
Mid-Cambridge is one of Cambridge's largest neighborhoods, stretching from Central Square in the east to Harvard Square in the west and north to Inman Square and the Cambridge/Somerville border. It is predominantly residential but also includes parts of the Harvard University campus, Cambridge and Youville Hospitals, and the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.
Street Changes
The City is working to ensure that our streets are being used in the most efficient way possible as we all work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.
2025 City Manager Performance Review
This is the third year Cambridge has conducted a City Manager Performance Review, which is an important commitment to transparency and accountability. This next step will be followed by the City Council’s formal evaluation delivered at a Special City Council Meeting in December.
12-14 Laurel Street
12-14 Laurel Street is a 2.5-story duplex in Cambridgeport between Central Square and the Charles River. The property is owned by a non-profit who is donating the 4,573 square foot site to Just A Start (JAS) to create permanently affordable ownership housing. The existing building will be demolished and replaced with a new, expanded building with a similar façade design.
The project will proceed as-of-right under the AHO.
