The City of Cambridge, in partnership with Americans for the Arts, is undergoing a study to understand the economic impact of the local arts and cultural programming. More information regarding the survey efforts to come.

With temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to announce that waterplay features at many parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer season!

The purpose of this survey is to hear from community members about their experiences and their ideas and hopes for LGBTQ+ friendly housing and spaces in Cambridge. This survey is open to any LGBTQ+ person who has lived in Cambridge or currently lives in Cambridge. Survey responses are anonymous. The survey results will be used to inform the recommendations provided by the LGBTQ+ Housing Task Force. The survey will be open February 6-16, 2024.

The vision for the Concord Alewife area is to encourage a mix of uses that over time will enliven the area, create an identity and sense of place, and take advantage of the area’s proximity to transit and to open space resources.

Construction has begun on the City of Cambridge's first standalone Fire Training Facility. This modern facility is designed to provide critical resources to enhance the department's training capabilities, maintain certifications, and provide a hands-on immersive experience to ensure firefighters can respond effectively to any emergency further supporting the department's ability to protect the community.

Youth ages 10-16 are welcome to join for three sessions of cooperative role-play and storytelling as we build out skills playing the table-top game DnD. The first session will include a character-building introduction followed by play continued into the next two sessions. No prior DnD experience is required, and experienced players are also welcome to join. Registration is required, as the program is capped at 8 players. Please plan to attend all sessions! MIT in collaboration with the City of Cambridge is planning to install a new drainage structure from Talbot Street to the Charles River to improve stormwater management in the area due to current and future development. The project will begin construction in October of this year and continue through to the Fall of 2019.
