Please join with us to remember the victims of the attacks of September, 11, 2001. A brief, respectful remembrance ceremony will be held at each City firehouse on Monday, September 11, 2023 starting at 9:50 a.m. Everyone is invited to join with firefighters participating at Fire Headquarters at 491 Broadway or at your neighborhood firehouse.

Camp Rainbow is an annual summer camp serving Cambridge young people with disabilities, ages 6-22. The camp is offered by the City of Cambridge's Recreation Division.

The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our April meeting, we will discuss Here comes the sun: a last chance for the climate and a fresh chance for civilization by Bill McKibben. Copies of the print book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. The e-book is available on the Libby app and the e-audiobook is available immediately on the Hoopla app. This is a hybrid event. If you’d like to learn more about your housing rights and connect with local resources, please join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the King Open School in Cambridge for a community event featuring City departments and local organizations offering information on housing, tenant protections, and available services. This event is free and open to all, with food, family-friendly activities, and entertainment provided.

Trained counselors, who are not clinicians, are available to provide free, confidential emotional support to all callers.

Join us for a chess challenge. Players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to participate. Chess sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. This is not an instructional class, but rather a gathering for individuals who want to play and test their skills against other members of the community. There's no need to register in advance - simply drop by and challenge yourself to improve your mastery of this classic game! July is Disability Pride Month! This month also marks the 35th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Learn how the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) is honoring this month and milestone.

Cambridge promotes sustainable transportation through education, community workshops, planning, and infrastructure projects. Resident volunteers can provide input on transportation projects. The City is investing in Electric Vehicle infrastructure and adding more fully electric vehicles to its fleet.
