The deadline to apply for the next Civil Service exam to become a Cambridge Police Officer has been announced. The deadline to apply for the exam is January 17, 2023. Late applications, which would result in an additional $50 fee, will be accepted until January 31, 2023. In advance of the application deadline, the Cambridge Police will host a series of recruiting information sessions.

Annual Alcohol License fall into two categories, Retail On-Premise for restaurants, hotels & clubs and Retail Off-Premise for package stores and markets. Both are issued by the License Commission in conjunction with the State's Alcohol Beverage Control Commission (ABCC). Retail On-Premise is governed by both Massachusetts General Law ch. 138, sec. 12 and Cambridge Regulations. Retail Off-Premise is governed by both Massachusetts General Law ch. 138, sec. 15 and Cambridge Regulations. The process for applying for a license takes a minimum of eight to ten weeks.

It has been a month since the last community update on the City’s response to the shooting and death of Arif Sayed Faisal by a Cambridge Police Officer. Over the last four weeks, the City and Police Department have continued to work hard on a path forward and City Manager Huang is providing the community with an update on the City’s progress.

Through the Cambridge Energy Helpline (617-430-6230), callers get connected to a trained adviser who can explain cost-saving programs, from fuel assistance and discount utility rates to solar credits and no-cost energy assessments. Join local artist Brooke Lambert for an introduction to painting with watercolor. Learn at your own pace to paint still life in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This class will introduce techniques in color mixing, observational painting and composition. You will come away from this class with beautiful watercolor paintings and a greater understanding and appreciation for the medium of watercolor. This class is for adults with all levels of experiences and will cover wet on wet and wet on dry techniques, masking, pressing, shading and light techniques, ink washes and pattern making. Registration is required.
