A proposal for Climate Resilience is available for review

During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is certified to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able. New makers are also welcome to come in during open shop for a 10min drop in video safety training! Tool Reservations for this date will open two weeks prior from this date.

Burning fossil fuels releases greenhouse gas emissions. They’re the main driver of climate change and also cause local environmental and human health impacts in Cambridge. That’s why the City is actively working to reduce fossil fuels throughout municipal operations and our community.

Burn Awareness Week 2023 is February 5th thru 11th

The Finance Department is responsible for the City's operating and capital finances, and fort processing payments for real estate and personal property taxes, municipal lien certificates, motor vehicle excise tax, and water bills.

This month, City Manager Louis A. DePasquale and his staff provided a high-level overview of the City's COVID-19 response. While the presentation is not a comprehensive list of the extensive efforts undertaken to support our community over the past year, it provides significant insights into the work that City staff have been engaged in to meet community needs and keep core City services functioning.

This class is temporarily being held at the Main Library while the Valente Branch Library is closed. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! A business use sidewalk obstruction permit is required if you are a business in the City of Cambridge and want to use an “A” framed sign, sandwich board, display merchandise, temporary banner or use tables and chairs on a sidewalk in the public way.

Children and families are invited to meet Jerry Craft, award-winning and best-selling graphic novelist of the "New Kid" series. Craft will talk about his work, answer questions from the audience and sign books. Porter Square Books will have books available for sale. This event takes place in the Lecture Hall (L2) with limited overflow seating in the Community Room. Recommended for ages 8 and up. About the Lecture The annual lecture is an initiative sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Curious George Fund and the Cambridge Public Library Foundation. The series aims to bring the community together to celebrate outstanding and engaging books for young readers. About the Author Jerry Craft is The New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of the graphic novels New Kid, Class Act, and School Trip. New Kid is the only book in history to win the John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature (2020), the Kirkus Prize for Young Readers’ Literature (2019), and the Coretta Scott King Author Award for the most outstanding work by an African American writer (2020). Jerry was born in Harlem and grew up in the Washington Heights section of New York City, and now travels the world telling kids and their families about the importance of reading.
