The City has launched a 21st Century Broadband initiative and hired nationally known CTC Technology & Energy (CTC) to conduct a feasibility study to help the City achieve its digital equity connectivity and Municipal Broadband goals.

Join us for a morning walk at one of the most renowned birdwatching spots in Cambridge, Mount Auburn Cemetery! We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Bird Sighting Board near the front entrance of Mt. Auburn Cemetery at 10:15 am. Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. Cambridge Animal Control does not operate a shelter facility or accept surrendered animals. If you need to rehome your pet, you can access a list of local shelters and rescues that can offer help.

Monthly Meeting for the Recycling Advisory Committee

The City of Cambridge completed a comprehensive planning study to develop a vision for Central Square, Kendall Square, and the area along Main Street connecting the two squares including the Osborn Triangle.

This project reconstructed about 400 feet of the Waverly Street Extension along the Purrington rail spur to create a mixed-use path.

Highlights include: a proposed wet meadow restoration project in Weston, ongoing construction and improvements along Route 2 and 128 that will result in 5 new stormwater treatment and spill containment basins, improvements to 8 existing basins along Route 128, and the creation of vegetated swales in the Route 2 median.

Install a raised intersection(s) in an underserved residential area with high volume traffic to calm streets and increase safety for pedestrian crossing.

Art honoring the 1971 action by Riverside neighborhood leaders including Black, Feminist, and LBTQ+ activists, who occupied the 888 Memorial Dr. building to demand affordable housing, slowing campus expansion & establishing a women’s center.
