The deadline to apply for the next Civil Service exam to become a Cambridge Police Officer has been announced. The deadline to apply for the exam is January 16, 2024. Late applications, which would result in an additional $50 fee, will be accepted until January 30, 2024. The written examination is scheduled to take place between March 16, 2024 – March 30, 2024.

The City of Cambridge today issued an emergency order allowing restaurants to sell groceries directly to consumers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The order creates a new opportunity for Cambridge residents to purchase surplus items such as meats, vegetables, dairy, canned goods and other limited grocery items through pick-up or delivery service from local restaurants throughout the city.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Hetty Lui McKinnon—James Beard Award-winning food writer and cook—for a discussion of her new cookbook Linger: Salads, Sweets and Stories to Savor.
