January 2026 classes will be held at Saint James Church, 1991 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140 due to repairs to the O'Neill Branch Library. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Class. This class will be taught at an intermediate level. No testing is needed.

We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for a special Women's History Month evening story time event. This program will run for 20-25 minutes, with songs, stories and rhymes. No registration is required. Please call 617-349-4019 for more information.

Join us for a game of chess at the O'Neill Branch! Players of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to participate. Chess sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. This is a space for individuals to play and test their skills against other members of the community. This is not an instructional class. The Age of Love follows the poignant adventures of thirty seniors who attend a first-of-its-kind Speed Dating event for 70- to 90-year-olds, and discover how the search for love changes — or doesn’t change — from first love to the far reaches of life. Playful and revealing, wise and inspiring, the speed daters both engage and enlighten with a candor that puts media stereotypes to shame. Just as we’re all destined to age, and the aged were all once young, we suddenly come to realize just how much, and how little, our hearts change over a lifetime. The film's director, Steven Loring, will join us virtually after the film for an audience Q&A. Presented in partnership with the Cambridge Council on Aging and the Living Well Network.

Join us for STEAM activities for all ages! We will be using household items to make straw rockets. In the case of weather complications, this program will be held inside.

6/24/25: This event is still on, but will be modified due to the extreme heat. Join us INDOORS at the O'Neill Branch to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of the summer! We will have food (INDOORS AND OUTDOORS), games and art. No registration is required. All ages are welcome!

Youth ages 10+ are welcome to join us for a single session of cooperative storytelling and role-play table-top game Dungeons & Dragons. Youth who have never played are encouraged to Try it!, youth with DnD experience are welcome. No registration required. Funded equally by the City of Cambridge and CCF, the effort aims to shore up local food pantries preparing to meet increased demand in the coming weeks and provide greater food access to the City’s most vulnerable populations – particularly low-income eligible families with children and older adults.
