Effective light design for Cambridge landmarks can make our city as livable at night as in the day. Well-designed lighting would enhance these landmarks and increase public safety.

Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Water in a Warming World Book: The High House by Jessie Greengrass Meetings will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. Copies of the book will be available at the Collins Branch during library hours. The Cambridge Public Library is honored to host the breathtaking art of Xiang Li, featuring over a dozen selected canvas portraits of Chinese empresses, for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The artwork is located on L2.

Cambridge Public Health Department will soon be offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines, as available, for all eligible residents. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine with rare exceptions. Vaccination is recommended for all who are eligible because it can reduce flu illnesses, visits to doctors’ offices, and missed work and school due to flu. It can also make symptoms less severe and reduce flu-related hospitalizations and deaths. A flu vaccine is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of serious complications from influenza.
