The Cambridge Preschool Program provides access to free, high-quality preschool for all Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds.

Our bicycle commuter workshops are great for businesses, communities, universities, or bike groups looking to promote healthy transportation options. The workshop is designed for people who know how to ride a bike, but would like to start using their bikes to ride to work, school, or clubs. The Baker-Polito Administration announced the weekly distribution of COVID-19 vaccine doses to providers across the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth has received 330,000 first and second doses from the federal government as part of the state allocation of doses. The Administration also announced the launch of the Commonwealth’s homebound vaccination program to build on the Administration’s efforts to ensure that all residents of the Commonwealth have equitable access to the vaccine.

On approximately June 29th, 2018, the MBTA Commuter Rail (which is operated by Keolis Commuter Services) started sounding the train horns at the Sherman Street crossing in North Cambridge. We recognize that the noise from the horns is disturbing residents at all hours of the day, and are therefore moving as quickly as possible to install a solution that will allow the MBTA/Keolis to stop sounding the train horns. At the same time, we recognize the safety hazards created by grade crossings that do not meet the current standards for a Quiet Zone, and therefore want to ensure that we install the proper safety measures to resolve this situation.

As we head into cooler weather, it’s time to think about flu and COVID-19 risks. Flu season will soon be upon us. Spending more time indoors means that there’s more opportunity for COVID-19 to spread. To protect against these two threats, the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) strongly recommends that residents get an annual flu vaccine AND stay up-to-date on COVID vaccinations and boosters.
