Cambridge Offers New Apprenticeship Program
The Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Office of Workforce Development (OWD) will collaborate to identify residents interested in committing to one to two-year paid apprenticeships.
Open our Doors
Let’s make our schools, libraries, and public buildings more accessible for all by adding automatic door openers to entries that are wheelchair accessible but lack this feature. The City will work with the Disabilities Commission to prioritize locations.
The Cambridge Women Heritage Project
Celebrate the under-recognized contributions of diverse Cambridge women. Fund research and oral history interviews to triple the number of featured women. Redesign the current project website to boost collaboration with schools and libraries.
Building Permits
Anyone seeking to construct, alter, repair, or demolish a structure must first obtain a building permit. The building permit must be obtained before the start of any work and prominently posted at the job site.
Getting Around Cambridge
Cambridge is committed to designing our city to help people to get around without driving, with an emphasis on pedestrian friendly intersections, bicycle lanes, traffic calming, and public transit.
Senior Home Education
Older adults are invited to learn about home improvement tips, how to shop for quality home products and how to create a financial future home needs assessment. Registration required.
The Impact of CET Outreach Workers
Outreach Workers build relationships with Cambridge families and share information about community events and resources offered by the City of Cambridge. Tagesech, a graduate of the Community Learning Center's Bridge to College Program, shares her journey as an Outreach Worker with the Amharic-speaking community in Cambridge.
