The proposed Operating and Capital budgets for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27), as well as the FY28-FY31 Operating and Capital Plans, have formally been submitted to the Cambridge City Council.

Beginning Thursday, July 1, the City of Cambridge will offer free COVID-19 testing one day per week on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. inside the CambridgeSide Mall. No appointment is needed. Thursday testing at the CambridgeSide Mall will no longer be drive-through testing by motor vehicle but will become a walk-in testing site without appointments inside the CambridgeSide Mall on the 2nd Floor above the Food Court. The current drive-through testing in the garage will shut down.

Fire Prevention Week, October 8-14, 2023

Participatory Budgeting is a democratic process that empowers community members to decide how to spend part of a public budget. In June and July 2022, community members submitted 1,320 ideas on how to spend $1 million of the City of Cambridge’s FY24 Capital Budget. From August to November, over 70 volunteer PB Delegates worked on five committees to research and evaluate those ideas and develop 20 final proposals for the PB ballot.

Beginning February 8, the Cambridge Public Health Department will be offering free COVID-19 and flu vaccines to adults and children (age 5+) every Wednesday from 12-4 p.m. at 119 Windsor Street, second floor.

Opioid Settlement funds have helped enhance and expand street medicine services for the unhoused community, including purchasing a new van.

Service will resume on the Orange Line and closed section of the Green Line on Monday, September 19.
