Significant Drought Conditions and Water Use Restrictions In Effect in Cambridge
The Cambridge Water Department (CWD) would like to inform the Cambridge community about the latest water drought status. In mid-January, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) elevated the Cambridge and Northeast region drought level status to Level 2 (Significant Drought). All nonessential outdoor water use is currently prohibited.
Cambridge City Council Vacancy Recount Results
Following a Vacancy Recount of the 2,248 ballots credited to Joan Pickett in the 2023 City Council Election, Catherine Zusy was elected to the Cambridge City Council for the remainder of the 2024-2025 term.

The MassHire Metro North Career Centers provides customer centered job search assistance to enable individuals to meet their training and employment goals. Cambridge residents are eligible for MassHire Metro North's career resources and events.
Bicycle Safety for Cambridge Youth
Access to bicycle safety equipment for youth will enable more people to enjoy this healthy activity. It will also relieve some of the stress on public transportation, while decreasing the city’s carbon and toxic gas emissions.
