Central Square BID is kicking off the summer and unveiling Central On Air to the public for the very first time. The event is on Saturday, June 14th from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. in Lafayette Square, just steps from their new studio at 425 Mass Ave. Enjoy live DJ sets, local vendors, and a first look (and listen!) at their street-level studio and livestream platform. The phased rollout of the Cambridge Police Department’s Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Program will serve as a critical step in strengthening transparency, accountability, and trust between officers and the community. This important initiative is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to public safety and comes after extensive planning, policy development utilizing national models, and best practices in training. The department has worked over the past two years to develop a program that meets the highest standards of accountability while protecting civil liberties.

Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang announced this week the appointment of Owen O’Riordan as the Deputy City Manager and Chief Operating Officer for the City. City Manager Huang also announced two additional appointments. First, Acting Commissioner Kathy Watkins has been appointed as the permanent Commissioner of Public Works. Second, Rebecca Fuentes will serve in the new position of Deputy Chief Operating Officer.
