“Still Marching 1970-2017” Exhibit Opening Reception
“Still Marching 1970-2017,” an exhibition of original photographs by Liane Brandon, opens with a reception sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Cambridge Women's Commission, and the Cambridge Historical Commission. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from the Cambridge Arts Council.
Summer Reading: Outdoor Story Time & Chalk Party (Central Square)
Join us outdoors for story time, chalk drawing and a special summer treat! This program will take place in the Central Square Library Plaza. In the event of rain, this program will be moved indoors to the Lewis Room. No registration required. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers.

Join Aaron Spelker, an accessibility technology trainer for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) for a presentation about the organization’s technology services.
CPR Class for Parents and Caregivers (Valente)
This CPR class will cover life-saving skills for infants, children and adults. We will use multi-media and hands-on practice to be sure students acquire skills and confidence to assist in a life-saving medical situation. This class will also cover training and the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for all ages, along with life-saving skills in choking situations. Students will receive their certificate upon completion of class. Please note that the City is not responsible for the content or training equipment. Space is limited (25 adults), registration is required. Note for CONFIRMED registrants: Your spot is held until the program start time. Once the program begins, we will fill in open spots from a day-of waiting list until the program reaches capacity. Please plan to arrive at the library approximately 15 minutes before the start time to ensure adequate time to check in before the program begins. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Funding for this program has been generously provided by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a democratic process that empowers community members through civic engagement to decide how to spend part of a public budget. PB was first developed in Brazil in 1989 and is now used in over 1,500 cities around the world.

Parent/Child (Ages 7-10) Book Group (Main)
Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Pizza will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Hoops by Matt Tavares, a historical fiction graphic novel follows the story of a girl’s basketball team in the 1970’s as they fight for the same treatment that the boy’s team receives. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family.
