Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Amitav Ghosh—author of the bestselling Ibis Trilogy and the first English-language writer to win the Jnanpith Award, India’s highest literary honor—for a discussion of his highly anticipated new novel, Ghost Eye. He will be joined in conversation by Garnette Cadogan—Tunney Lee Distinguished Lecturer in Urbanism at the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT, and editor-at-large for Nonstop Metropolis. The City of Cambridge is one of only 22 cities in the United States to earn the highest credit rating possible from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, and Fitch Ratings. The City has achieved this distinction of earning AAA ratings from each of the nation’s three major credit rating agencies every year since 1999.

Governor Charlie Baker announced a new set of initiatives aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, especially in higher risk communities that have seen a recent uptick in cases. After more than 30 years of dedicated service to the Cambridge Police Department, Commissioner Christine Elow has announced her retirement. With Commissioner Elow’s retirement, Superintendent Pauline Wells has been named Acting Police Commissioner. She joined the Police Department in 1993 and has most recently served as Superintendent of Operations.
