The Cambridge Life Magazine is published twice annually and features City programs, services and initiatives that benefit Cambridge residents.

The city’s Open Data Program makes government data easily available in useful formats, and is intended to increase transparency, foster engagement among residents, and create new opportunities for collaboration between Cambridge and the public.

The benches will use recordings designed to facilitate interpersonal interaction between people who would not normally interact. The structures will include instructions and conversation prompts to encourage residents to share perspectives.

January Selections: Love Japan : recipes from our Japanese American kitchen by Sawako Okochi & Aaron Israel with Gabriella Gershenson and The gaijin cookbook : Japanese recipes from a chef, father, eater, and lifelong outsider by Ivan Orkin and Chris Ying. Join friends and neighbors for a potluck! Try a recipe and bring your results or thoughts to share and discuss with other cooks. All experience levels welcome. No need to bring a dish to join. Books will be available for pick up at the Boudreau and Collins Branches during library hours. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it is an opportunity to raise awareness of sexual violence and support those who have been victimized. For the Cambridge Police Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Unit it is also an opportunity to share the resources we have available to members of our community.

Join us for a hands-on workshop designed to introduce you to the basics of using the internet. You’ll learn key terms, how to navigate web browsers, use search engines effectively, and explore websites with confidence. We'll also show you how to apply these skills to search for jobs online—all in a friendly, supportive environment. Residents who are not eligible for regular unemployment benefits can now apply online for the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program. The new federal program provides up to 39 weeks of unemployment benefits to those who are unable to work because of a COVID-19-related reason but are not eligible for regular or extended unemployment benefits. This includes self-employed workers, independent contractors, gig economy workers, and those with limited work history.
