Our bicycle commuter workshops are great for businesses, communities, universities, or bike groups looking to promote healthy transportation options. The workshop is designed for people who know how to ride a bike, but would like to start using their bikes to ride to work, school, or clubs. If you are a sex offender in Massachusetts, you must register with the state sex offender registry every year. Depending on your level, you will need to either mail your registration information to the registry board, or come into your local police department and update it.

Robin Putnam from the Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulation will be at the Library to provide you with essential information to stay steps ahead of fraudsters. She’ll tell you how to spot and avoid scams, inform you about the latest scams we’re seeing, along with steps to take if you have been a victim. Registration is requested.

The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) is a publicly-funded program that provides free or affordable, high-quality early education and care for all Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds. The Cambridge Preschool Program covers the cost of the school-day, school-year portion of programs. Depending on a family's income, there may be additional costs for full-day, full-year (including summer) education and care. Families apply to CPP through a single, centralized online application. DHSP Preschools are partner of CPP.

Join us for an informative discussion with representatives Viet Van, Community Support Services Manager, and Nina Cohen, Director of Adult Family Care, of Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES). Since 1972, SCES has been the area's aging information and service center, helping older people and people living with disabilities remain safe and independent in their own homes. Registration is requested, but not required. SCES services are available to older residents of Cambridge and Somerville, as well as their caregivers. Some services are open to adults with disabilities who are age 16 and older, and to residents of the Greater Boston area.

In observance of the Indigenous Peoples' Day holiday on Monday, October 10, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed. Curbside collection will be one day behind schedule for the week of October 10. Street cleaning will also be suspended on the holiday and will occur in advance on Thursday, September 29 for streets that would normally be swept on the second Monday of the month.

Over the summer the Cambridge Police Department welcomed our newest Cadet, Samantha Ayala. The CPD is also pleased to announce that our 2025 Cadet Exam will be held on Saturday, November 15th.
