Join Central Square's cookbook club! This month, we're cooking from In Bibi's Kitchen: The Recipes and Stories of Grandmothers from the Eight African Countries that Touch the Indian Ocean by Hawa Hassan. Join us as we take a walk to enjoy the natural wonders of spring and learn about clouds. We will get to know some spring birds, look for early flowers and leaf buds, and see how many different types of clouds we can identify! This event is open to all ages. The walk will be on a wheelchair-accessible paved footpath in Danehy Park. Registration for this event is required; register below. The meeting spot for this event will be sent to registrants via email.

The Community Preservation Act (CPA) Committee will hold a virtual public hearing to receive public requests and comments on FY26 funding for affordable housing, open space and historic preservation projects.

A Construction Open House will be held on March 26 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Lesley University Atrium. This will be a chance to see the design for this section of Mass Ave and learn more about what to expect during construction.

The City of Cambridge is working to adopt an ordinance that will require new buildings and buildings undergoing a major renovation to eliminate the use of fossil fuels. Making buildings fossil fuel free means healthier homes and buildings and will help Cambridge reach our climate goals.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a democratic process that empowers community members to help decide how to spend part of a public budget. The City will allocate a record-high $2 million for this year’s process, which doubles the previous budget of $1 million. The PB outreach team will be collecting ideas from the Cambridge community through direct outreach in public spaces and at public events Sept. 11-Oct. 9, 2023.
