In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 25, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations.   The Department of Veterans Services (DVS) invites the public to attend three Memorial Day Weekend Observance Events: Grave Decoration Day, Observance for maritime military members lost due to maritime battles, and a Memorial Day Observance event.

The Bluebikes Station Suggestion Map allows users to suggest new locations for Bluebikes Stations. The input received through this map will inform future planning and expansion of the Bluebikes system.

This CPR class will cover life-saving skills for infants, children and adults. We will use multi-media and hands-on practice to be sure students acquire skills and confidence to assist in a life-saving medical situation. This class will also cover training and the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for all ages, along with life-saving skills in choking situations. Students will receive their certificate upon completion of class. Please note that the City is not responsible for the content or training equipment. Space is limited (25 adults), registration is required. Note for CONFIRMED registrants: Your spot is held until the program start time. Once the program begins, we will fill in open spots from a day-of waiting list until the program reaches capacity. A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Grey. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. The 10-week course will occur every Thursday, 1:30pm-3:30pm, starting February 27 through May 1. The final class will now take place on May 15. No class on May 1 or May 8. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants. Due to the popularity and to gain the most out of this program, we expect all participants to commit to all sessions in this 10-week course. Instructor Jack Grey is a local comedy performer with over nine years of combined improv and stand-up comedy experience. Benches and picnic tables bring our community together. Installing new benches and picnic tables in up to 10 of our Cambridge parks will allow people of all ages and abilities to enjoy them for resting, talking, reading, people watching and being outdoors.

Learn how to use Google Sheets (Google's version of Excel) to create a budget! You will learn how to use Google Sheets budgeting templates and enter data in a friendly learning environment. Join local artist Brooke Lambert for an introduction to painting with watercolor. Learn at your own pace to paint still life in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This class will introduce techniques in color mixing, observational painting and composition. You will come away from this class with beautiful watercolor paintings and a greater understanding and appreciation for the medium of watercolor. This class is for adults with all levels of experiences and will cover wet on wet and wet on dry techniques, masking, pressing, shading and light techniques, ink washes and pattern making. Registration is required.

12-14 Laurel Street is a 2.5-story duplex in Cambridgeport between Central Square and the Charles River. The property is owned by a non-profit who is donating the 4,573 square foot site to Just A Start (JAS) to create permanently affordable ownership housing. The existing building will be demolished and replaced with a new, expanded building with a similar façade design. The project will proceed as-of-right under the AHO.

Hire a coordinator to oversee programming and organize volunteers for tree care and community garden maintenance. This new three-year position will promote knowledge and activities for residents of all ages.
