The track and field, installed in 2012, are at the end of their useful life and need to be replaced. The scope of work will include the replacement of the synthetic turf field and the track, as well as upgrades to the adjoining amenities including team benches, bleachers, and shot put and discus throwing areas. You’re invited to our September Brewery Book Club, where Lamplighter and the Cambridge Public Library team up to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices while having a beer. We meet at Lamplighter Brewing Co., 284 Broadway, in the back taproom. This month we’ll read I Leave It Up to You by Jinwoo Chong. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. The e-book and digital audiobook can be borrowed through the Libby app. We’ll gather in the Lamplighter back taproom to discuss the book, what we learned from it, what we found ourselves touched by, and all other thoughts. Art on a nice Summer night? Nothing sounds better than that! Come to the Library and enjoy an art filled evening learning the techniques of printmaking. In partnership with artist Brooke Lambert, a professional printmaker and painter, she will take you through this guided art class. The library will provide all materials. Registration is required.

Notice is hereby given that the Commission will hold an Architect’s Committee Meeting on Monday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM to consider the following matters under Ch. 2.78, Article III of the City Code and the Order establishing the Commission. The meeting will be held on-site at the end of Hilliard Place.

A community meeting has been scheduled to discuss a shooting on January 13 that resulted in a 21-year-old man being tragically killed outside of a Clifton Street residence. The meeting will include the latest information on the shooting. The preliminary investigation suggested the fatal shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public.
