The Port is a high-density residential neighborhood with around seven thousand residents, bounded by Hampshire Street to the north, the Boston & Albany Railroad to the east, Prospect Street to the west, and Massachusetts Avenue to the south.

The newly structured Family and Social Justice Section brings together certain operational units to provide specific services to members of the community who would be better served through a “social justice approach” than what could be afforded to them through conventional criminal justice approaches.

The Home Improvement Program (HIP) provides low-interest and zero interest home improvement loans to eligible owners of condominiums, single family homes and multi-family houses.
