The Leaf Blower Ordinance will require the reduction of noise and emissions of particulate matter resulting from the use of leaf blowers to protect the public health, welfare and environment of the City of Cambridge and its citizens.

The City of Cambridge is seeking poems for its 2023 Sidewalk Poetry Contest. Five winning poems will be imprinted into the fresh concrete of new sidewalks around the city beginning this fall. Winners will also each receive a $100 prize.

Join us for a fun, interactive introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) and inclusive communication. Participants will learn practical everyday signs, respectful ways to interact with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, expressive communication techniques, and simple real-life ASL scenarios. This activity-based workshop includes silent communication challenges, group participation, and engaging sign language games designed to build confidence and connection through communication. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Mass Audubon will lead an exploration around the library in search of plants and animals, while using scientific tools like binoculars and magnifying lenses to get a closer look. We'll record what we find in our nature journals and play nature games. All materials will be provided. No registration required. This program is recommended for children 4-8 and their caregivers. Hosted by Mass Audubon and the Cambridge Public Library.

This program will now take place on May 29. Join guide Stefanie Haug while exploring our neighborhood nature and celebrating Elderhood. As a group we'll connect with nature and the neighborhood mindfully with a gentle walk and draw on contemplative practices. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. Today's class has been cancelled. A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Simon for individuals with some improv experience. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants.

Screening on the documentary film, "Cured" which tells the story of the fight to remove homosexuality from the list of mental health diagnoses. The film will be followed by a discussion with one of the directors and community members.
