The Department of Public Works is excited to share the latest update to the City’s tree canopy assessment! The assessment was prepared by the University of Vermont’s Spatial Analysis Lab and analyzes changes to the tree canopy from 2018 through 2024. Our canopy experienced both loss and gains with an overall increase in Cambridge’s canopy by 5% from 2018 to 2024!

The City’s Contractor, Indus, will conduct roadway preservation work starting September 9th. A truck will be spraying the roadway with a plant-based solution called Fog Seal. The solution goes down as a white, almost opaque spray, but once dry, it leaves a transparent “seal” over the pavement.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. This month we will be reading and discussing The Beatryce Prophecy by Kate DiCamillo.
