Youth ages 10-16 are welcome to join for four sessions of cooperative role-play and storytelling as we build out skills playing the table-top game DnD. The first session will include a character-building introduction followed by play continued into the next four sessions. No prior DnD experience is required, and experienced players are also welcome to join. Registration is attached to the first DnD session, 12/2. Join Central Square's new Horror Book Club. We're exploring horror in all forms -- classic horror, queer horror, ghost stories, and more! For our July meeting, we're reading Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Copies are available for pickup at the branch. For this title, we're following up our discussion with a special film screening of the 2018 film adaptation, Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman. This will be a virtual community meeting for the study of city-owned property in Central Square. We will present draft recommendations for the future uses of the sites based on community feedback and input, as well as municipal needs. Central Square City Lots Study: The City of Cambridge Community Development Department (CDD), in collaboration with other city departments and the Cambridge community, is leading a municipal property needs assessment and planning study for city-owned properties in Central Square.

Meet a swimming, quacking friend at a duck-themed story time, learn about duck behavior and anatomy, and do a themed activity! Best of all, in the Duck Circle, youth are able to touch and interact with a live duck. Due to the particularly fine weather, this program will meet in the Valente Reading Garden, at the corner of Cambridge Street and Berkshire Street. This program is for children of all ages, with a caregiver. Registration is required. When registering, please indicate how many children are attending. Adult Gaming: Unplugged takes place on the first Monday of the month from 6:00 -- 7:30 PM in the Rossi Room. Be there or be square! For the month of April, Adult Gaming: Unplugged will be held on Monday, April 9th, 2026. It will return to its first Monday of the month schedule on May 4th (Star Wars Day!) 2026.

Biannual Publication Mailed to Cambridge Residents by the City Manager's Office

Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by welcoming Alejandro Varela, the author of three books of fiction, including The Town of Babylon, which was nominated for a National Book Award, and Middle Spoon, published just this September. Middle Spoon, which Publisher's Weekly called a "refreshingly candid tale of modern love," follows a married middle-aged gay man as he struggles to move on from a break-up with his boyfriend. After reading from his work, Varela will sit in conversation with Ursula Villarreal-Moura, the author of Like Happiness. An audience Q&A and book signing will follow. Registration is required.
