Police Review and Advisory Board
The primary function of Police Review & Advisory Board (PRAB) is to investigate and make findings regarding complaints brought by individuals against the Cambridge Police Department or police officers, and it also reviews Cambridge Police Department policies, practices and procedures.
Parent/Child (Ages 7-10) Book Group (Main)
Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Pizza will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Hoops by Matt Tavares, a historical fiction graphic novel follows the story of a girl’s basketball team in the 1970’s as they fight for the same treatment that the boy’s team receives. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family. The Cambridge Police Department today announced the launch of a new publicly-accessible arrest, summons, citation, and use of force Procedural Justice Dashboard. This comprehensive dashboard is designed to better serve the community by increasing the department’s transparency and providing the public with deeper insights into Cambridge Police officer interactions with the public.
DPW Celebrates 5 Years of Citywide Curbside Compost Program
This Spring marks the five-year anniversary of the citywide curbside compost program. Since 2018, Cambridge residents have diverted more than 6,500 tons of food waste from the trash. To celebrate, the Department of Public Works Recycle Division has announced a new food waste drop-off waste site located across from 10 Education Circle in the Cambridge Crossing part of East Cambridge. Any resident may use this drop-off location to dispose of their food waste.
Objects of Memory: Washington and Material Culture (Main/Virtual)
To mark the 250th anniversaries of the American Revolution and the founding of the United States, a coalition of local non-profits and government agencies will present Washington in American Memory, a seven-part speaker series. Stebbins, Jr. Curator of American Art at the Harvard Art Museums
