Healthy Aging and Public Transportation
Partnering with the Council on Aging, the Community Development Department conducted a series of community meetings with seniors focusing on “usability, mobility, and accessibility” to transit. The goal of each meeting was to engage seniors in a discussion about their experiences with public transit, including challenges, barriers, and opportunities.
Stay at Home Order
On March 31, Governor Baker extended the stay-at-home advisory and non-essential business closure that was set to expire on April 7 until May 4, the same date that schools are to remain closed until. The 10-person limit on gatherings in the state has been extended as well, following a similar extension by the federal government.
Families with Children ages 4–10 years: Pilot the Math! Everywhere! App
We are seeking Cambridge families with children ages 4–10 years to pilot Math! Everywhere!, an exciting math app that encourages your child to explore fun, interactive math tasks — right in your neighborhood. The app, created by local organization MathTalk, supports the goals of the Early Childhood Math Group facilitated by the Cambridge STEAM Initiative.
Art For Social Justice Grants
The grants support projects that present the themes and ongoing work of social justice to the Cambridge public through the arts.
Painting Historic Exterior Colors
The Historical Commission has a staff person with historic paint color experience who offers on-site consultations to homeowners anywhere in Cambridge to help with the paint selection process.
