Originally established in 1997 as the Neighborhood Sergeant Program, the Cambridge Police Neighborhood Engagement Program seeks to directly connect community members with the police supervisors who are the liaisons to their neighborhood. Each geographic neighborhood of the city is assigned a Sergeant and Lieutenant who regularly work in this area of the city. These liaisons are available to attend community meetings or events, discuss areas of community concerns, and share more about the services offered by the Cambridge Police Department.
