Description
The City of Cambridge and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) are seeking input from Cambridge residents on closures of Memorial Drive to vehicles to allow for recreation.
DCR closes a portion of Memorial Drive to motor vehicle traffic each weekend from the end of April to mid-November to allow pedestrians, cyclists, and others to enjoy the riverfront roadway without cars. The car-free area created by this program is sometimes referred to as "Riverbend Park." Right now, Memorial Drive is closed to cars from Gerry's Landing Road to Western Avenue from Saturday at 8 a.m. to Sunday at 7 p.m., which is an expansion of the Sunday-only schedule required by state law.
What's happening at this meeting? The City and DCR want to hear your thoughts on the current schedule. This meeting will include a brief presentation on the closures of Memorial Drive to vehicles, followed by an open comment period. Depending on the number of attendees, we may limit commenters' speaking time to allow everyone a chance to speak.

Join us in the auditorium of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The school's address is 102 Putnam Avenue.
Foods and beverages are not allowed in the school auditorium.
