The Cambridge Climate Committee (CCC) — formerly the Climate Protection Action Committee (CPAC) — is a standing advisory group appointed by the City Manager. It plays an important role in helping Cambridge respond to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions — with a focus on equity, community partnership, and leadership.
The committee's work centers on three key responsibilities:
- Advise the City: Offer ideas and feedback on how Cambridge can reduce the impacts of climate change — with a focus on supporting communities most at risk.
- Connect with the Community: Share information about City climate programs, listen to resident concerns, and bring that feedback to City staff to help make programs more effective and inclusive.
- Support Progress and Accountability: Stay up to date on the City’s climate goals and provide feedback on challenges, opportunities, and ways to improve results.
The committee is made up of volunteers who live or work in Cambridge and who care deeply about climate change. Members come from across the community and bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences to the table. They typically serve 2-year terms.
