Celebrating Disability Pride is a festive event for the whole community that aims to increase visibility, dignity and inclusion of people with disabilities while raising awareness and reducing stigma. Conceived by a coalition of Cambridge residents with lived experience, this event aims to foster positive change and community celebration, modeling an inclusive and accessible public gathering. Bring your friends and family to this celebration of creative, recreational, and entertaining activities!
Event Details
- When: Saturday, October 4, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Rain date: Sunday, October 5,1 – 4 p.m.
- Where: Joan Lorentz Park, Cambridge Public Library (449 Broadway)
- Registration: Register to get a free t-shirt at the event!
- Transportation and Parking: visit the event website to learn more about directions to the venue and accessible options for transportation and parking. Complimentary wheelchair-accessible shuttle service will be provided to and from the event with convenient stops at all library branches throughout the city from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Interpretation: ASL, Bangla, and Spanish live interpretation services are available. To request an interpreter for this event or for additional support accessing the materials or space, please contact accesshelp@cambridgema.gov by Friday, September 26.
- Public restrooms are available at the Cambridge Public Library.
- EMS will be on site.
