Removal of Public Shade Trees
City of Cambridge, Department of Public Works
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. on a Zoom webinar to consider the removal of the following public tree(s):
River Street – Removal of 34 street trees due to the River Street streetscape improvements project. Location will be replanted.
632 Mass Ave – 2 oaks (8.1” & 7.6”)
632 Mass Ave (Carl Barron Plaza) – 6 trees (2 oaks – 15.2” & 11”, 4 golden raintrees – 10.8”, 11.5”, 11.6”, & 10.1”)
17 Central Sq (in median) – 2 Zelkovas (10” & 10.8”)
VFW Park (street tree on West side) – 11.2” linden
26 River St – 3.8” red maple
44 River St – 9.3” linden
45 River St – 5.7” linden
62 River St – 3 trees (9.5” & 8.1” lindens and 3.1” elm)
91 River St – 9” linden
92 River St – 8” linden
94 River St – 4.4” linden
Tubman Square – 3 crabapples (5.5”, 11.5”, & 12.7”)
