Cambridge Carnival Goes Virtual this Year on Sunday, September 13

The show must go on!   Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to keep our community safe, the Cambridge Carnival International Committee has decided to present a virtual Cambridge Carnival this year.

Over 6,000 of our supporters have already signed up to join us in this exciting virtual festival endeavor. The Virtual Cambridge Carnival will be live streamed over 3 hours on Facebook and Instagram Live platforms. Highlights of the virtual portion of the festival to include:

  • Calypso Monarch of Toronto Canada Joel Connector Davis-live virtual performance
  • History of Carnival by Cambridge Carnival founding member Lynette Laveau Saxe
  • Photo montage featuring Thomas Morris' photos of costumes from various Carnival over the years
  • Vintage footage of Carnivals past and clips from the first Cambridge Carnival in 1993
  • Folkloric story telling by local actors Marcia Fearon and Alexandria Danielle King
  • Ethnic folk dance performances from groups such as Samba Viva (Brazilian)
  • Cooking Demo by Chef Kwasi Kwaa of Comfort Kitchen
  • Live Caribbean jazz music performance from The Mastadonis Project Band
  • Puerto Rican Bomba Dancer and Percussionist Lady Enchantress
  • Performance by Tempo International Steel Orchestra
