LGBTQ+ Commission Youth Working Group Agenda

Date: Tuesday November 18th 6:45- 7:45pm

Location: 689 Mass Ave.

Agenda (to be updated 48 hours or more before meeting)

Meeting Chair: Emmy Howe

  1. Call to order
  2. Assign minute taker
  3. Review and Approve Previous Minutes from April 28, 2025  
  4. Recap of previous Working Group proceedings (in case of new members)
  5. Updates on Previous Action Items

    TASKS For creating a platform for youth to be heard:

    • Identify Youth and reach out to invite to a series of meetings
      • Include Commission Staff to help to foster this connection.
        • Consider first meeting in October of 2025
          • Continue planning for work with local schools- table this action and change it to get names and contact information for GSA leaders to ask about potential youth interest.
        • Identify Youth to join the commission.
          • Flyer for youth pride can include adding youth who may be interested in joining the commission
          • Discuss with Carolina and the staff about the age of youth member
  6. Old Business

    The Next Banned Book Reading will be in January at Central Sq. Co-Sponsoring with the library and YWCA (Hopefully with Pizza, snacks and drinks)

  7. New Business

    Guest: Sam Musher Youth Advocacy Specialist

    Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Cambridge Public Schools
