Project Review and Discussion

  • BZA Formula Business Special Permit Application (Change of Ownership) – Dunkin Donuts, 65 JFK Street and 61 Church Street

The Applicant is proposing a change of ownership for two Dunkin Donuts franchise locations at 65 JFK Street and 61 Church Street. No physical or operational changes are proposed to either location. Fast Order/Quick-Service Food Establishments in the Harvard Square Overlay District require a special permit from the Board of Zoning Appeal if they are a Formula Business. Zoning Section 11.33 additionally notes that existing special permits may not be transferred to a new owner.

General Business

  • A Continuation of the July 13th Discussion on Opportunities and Challenges to Pedestrianization in Harvard Square

    This agenda item will be organized as follows:

    • Chair Simitis will begin with a summary of last month’s meeting and an introduction to a continued discussion of pedestrianization.
    • Public comment.
    • Chair Simitis will facilitate a discussion of the Committee members to process what was heard at last month's meeting and to formulate a consensus about points of enthusiasm/agreement and/or ideas the committee resisted or is concerned about.
  • Committee Member Updates

Hold for members of HSAC to share relevant information about Harvard Square.
