In 2017, the City embarked on our first Zero Waste Master Plan to help set the City on the path to reducing trash 30% by 2020 and 80% by 2050. In the Cambridge Recycling newsletter from January 2024, we shared how we have reduced trash 35% since 2008. Now that we've accomplished the first goal, we are setting our sights on further reducing trash. But, in order to do so, we need your help and feedback.

On June 12, we invite all Cambridge residents, property managers, and other stakeholers to join us for a kick-off event for the Zero Waste Plan 2.0. The kick-off will have free food, kids' activities, and fun ways to provide feedback to the City on our waste management systems.

To view the achievements from the first Zero Waste Master Plan, watch Cambridge Recycling Director's presentation here.
