Description
Please join us for a participatory public art event that will explore civic engagement, the role of art, and the ways that the Foundry will serve the needs and wants of the Cambridge community.
I Wish This Was …
Based on an iconic public art project launched by New Orleans artist, Candy Chang, this participatory activity will reveal the hopes, dreams and colorful imaginations across Cambridge neighborhoods, and provide new insights for what the Foundry might become.
Community Jukebox
Boston-based artist, Elisa Hamilton, will be creating a one-of-a-kind jukebox to be permanently installed in the Foundry. It will feature authentic stories and voices from across Cambridge, allowing people to be heard, and celebrating the richness of the Cambridge community.
We’ll start with breakfast at the Multicultural Art Center, where we’ll get updates on progress with the Foundry and hear more about these unique art projects, including a chance to meet Elisa Hamilton. We’ll then walk to the Foundry (adjacent to 180 Bent Street) to share our unique hopes and dreams using Candy Chang’s iconic “I Wish This Was …” stickers.
