    • STEAM Academy: Innovators for Purpose (Main)

      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects. Mondays and Thursdays, Sept. 27 - Dec 23 (Learning Lab) Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Made possible by generous support from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund and Verizon.

      December read: Hamnet, by Maggie O'Farrell Reading Interests: The group concentrates on fiction, memoirs, and popular nonfiction. Some past selections include: Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli, On Immunity by Eula Biss, and Disoriental by Négar Djavadi. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book and digital audiobook through OverDrive or the Libby app. How to register: Registration is required for this event. Click the registration link below to register. This event is onsite at Main, with the option to attend virtually. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event.
