    • Outdoor Baby Lapsit (Main)

      Just for you and the baby! Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers and babies to learn, play, and develop language and motor skills. Come prepared to sit outside on the ground one-on-one with your baby in your lap. This program will be held in Joan Lorentz Park on the lawn outside the Main Library. In the event of inclement weather, this program will move indoors, where seating is limited. Please call 617-349-4038 for more information.

      Put on your dancing shoes and head over for a morning of singing and dancing! For children of all ages and their grown-ups. This program will be held outside of the O'Neill Branch Library.       Put on your dancing shoes to improve flexibility and balance, strengthen muscles and have fun! Certified Zumba Gold instructor Emily B. will lead you through 45 minutes of low-impact and easy-to-follow choreography in your own home through Zoom. Join us! Separate registration is required for each session. This is a virtual event. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event.

Members will suggest and the facilitator will decide on future selections from titles available in the Minuteman Library Network. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book or digital audiobook through OverDrive or the Libby app. How to register: Registration is required. Click the registration link below to register. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one day before the event, and again one hour before the event.       During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is badged to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able.

    • STEAM Academy: Innovators for Purpose (Main)

      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology, and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects. Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Made possible by generous support from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund and Verizon.
