      O'Connell Branch, 48 Sixth St., Cambridge, MA 02141

      Therapy horses bring happiness, hope, and a sense of well being to people of all ages. Come meet a miniature horse from Lifting Spirits Miniature Therapy Horses! Listen to a story, learn about what therapy horses do, and pat the horse afterwards. Closed-toed shoes are recommended. Registration is required for each person.

      We invite children and their caregivers for 20-25 minutes of stories and songs. Recommended for children ages 3-5. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Past selections include: Circe by Madeline Miller, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, The Autobiography of Malcom X, as told to Alex Haley, Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, Nala's World by Dean Nicholson, and Dancing in the Mosque by Homeira Qaderi. How to get the print book: Copies of the book are set aside at the O'Connell Branch. Visit during open hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy.
