    • Creative Aging: Improv (Main)

      A series of classes with instruction from Improv Boston. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. The 8-week course will occur every Thursday, 2pm-4pm, starting September 8 through November 3 (no class 10/6). This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 20 participants. Due to the popularity and to gain the most out of this program, we expect all participants to commit to all sessions in this 8-week course.       Join friends and neighbors for a potluck! What does local cooking mean to you? This month's cookbook is themed and can be any book or recipe relating to foods made with garden or farmers market fresh ingredients! Since this month is themed rather than a specific book, possible titles include: Bountiful: Recipes Inspired By Our Garden Greenfeast: Autumn, Winter Greenfeast: Spring, Summer The Garden Chef: Recipes from Plant to Plate Grow Cook Eat Try a recipe and bring your results or thoughts to share and discuss with other cooks. All experience levels welcome! This event will take place outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, it will be announced the morning of that the event will pivot to meeting virtually on Zoom. Registration ensures that you will receive the Zoom link. Books are available for pickup at both the Boudreau and Collins Branch Libraries.       Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. You will also create your Hive badge ID using our laser cutter. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.
