Join us in this six-week Tai Chi practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine.
Sifu Mynor Diaz has been learning and teaching Tai Chi classes for over 20 years. He has taught classes at five VA Boston Healthcare System locations and at Senior Centers.
Due to the popularity of this series we expect partipants to all the classes.

Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology, and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects.
Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Learn how to cut, engrave, and shape designs from a variety of materials using the Glowforge Pro laser cutter in this 2-day workshop. This series of workshops replaces the previous Glowforge 101 and Glowforge 201 offerings.
In part 1 of this course, you will utilize the camera for focusing and scanning your own custom images, properly select materials for your project, and fabricate your first design. In part 2, you will create digital artwork for the Glowforge, and learn file formatting for production.
Note: This is a badging course for laser cutting. Signing up for part 1 of this series registers you to participate in part 2 the next day. You will be badged at the end of the part 2 workshop, and are able to reserve the Glowforge Pro for use during designated times.

Ready to start your own podcast? The Hive at Cambridge Public Library and Cambridge Community Television are teaming up for this two-session workshop where you'll get a crash course on the basics of Podcasting! In the first session, held at the Hive, you'll get a technical overview of their podcasting equipment, exposure to editing tools, and time to brainstorm your podcasting idea. In the second session, held at Cambridge Community Television, you'll dive into the content of your podcast. You'll learn about CCTV's podcasting tools and how to distribute your podcast across multiple platforms. Instructors: Kassia Roberts, Yanka Petri, & Alfonso Mateo

December's Read: The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson
Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each fall and can be found linked below as a PDF. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.
Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. The group is friendly and informal.
How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Question and Answer desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy.
This is a hybrid event. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one hour before the event. Want to join in person? Come to the Rossi Room on the ground floor at the Main Library.
