    • Exhibition: From Cambridge to Yerevan: 35 Years of Friendship

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      On display March 1 - April 28 The Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association (CYSCA) was founded in 1987, in response to the Cold War, as a project of the Cambridge Peace Commission. Through its mission to foster friendship, trust and dynamic interaction between the people of Cambridge, Mass. and Yerevan, Armenia, CYSCA has built links between community members and worked towards public awareness of issues of mutual concern. CYSCA has made its mark in both communities with the implementation of numerous professional development programs, reciprocal youth exchanges, supportive assistance to schools in Armenia, and frequent participation in the Cambridge Science Festival. The exhibit in the lobby and second floor of the Main Library features artifacts, proclamations, photographs, posters, artworks and news clips reflecting on CYSCA's past 35 years with more years and projects to come.

    • Finished Compost Giveaway

      The City of Cambridge will be distributing finished compost free of charge to Cambridge residents. The rain date is April 23 at same time and location.

    • Earth Day Fixit Clinic

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Learn to fix your torn clothing, broken electronics, appliances, computers, toys, sewing machines, bicycles, fabric items, etc. at the Fixit Clinic. Fixit Coaches will share their time, tools and expertise to consult with you on the disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of your item. Gain the confidence and knowledge to make repairs and teach others to do the same. This event takes place in The Hive, located on L1 of the Main Library. Open to all ages, registration is required. This event is brought to you by the Cambridge Public Library, The Cambridge Department of Public Works, and Fixit Clinic.     • Crafting Corner (O'Neill)

      O'Neill Branch, 70 Rindge Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140

      Fiber arts crafters of all skill levels are welcome to drop in for companionable crafting! Bring your current work in progress, and enjoy tea, snacks, and conversation with other crafters. Chat, share tips, and maybe even inspire others. No registration required.

    • Voices of Poetry Presents a Celebration of National Poetry Month

      Voices of Poetry is pleased to present a FREE program of exceptional poetry on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 2 pm at Cambridge Public Library. This event will feature five acclaimed poets: Toni Bee, Eileen Cleary, Deborah Leipziger, Michael McInnis & Lloyd Schwartz. Registration is not required but encouraged. Cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library.

    • XR Lab 101 (Main)

      Extended reality (XR) opens the door to worlds and experiences outside the everyday through virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality equipment. Test drive our Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality glasses, Structure Sensor 3D scanner, Merge headsets, and more. Registration is required. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.
