    • Vinyl Cutting 101 (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Would you like to make your own vinyl signs, stickers, or images to transfer to T-shirts and other textiles? In this workshop, you can learn how to use our Roland Camm-1 GS-24 vinyl cutter. You can then design a sticker and cut it with our vinyl cutter! Registration is required. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. We may provide auxiliary aids and services, written materials in alternative formats, and reasonable modifications in policies and procedures to people with disabilities.     • Beginners’ Mandarin Class (Main)

      Main Library, Community Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Come to the Library and learn the second most-spoken language in the world! This class, taught by Sunling Liew—an experienced Chinese-language instructor of the Ming Hui Academy Boston—is designed for beginners. No testing or experience is needed, but registration is required.       During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is badged to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able.

      Bring your own fiber arts project and join us for a delightful crafting session. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, enjoy tea, snacks, and engaging conversations with fellow crafters. Please remember to bring your own supplies, as no formal instructions will be provided during the session. No registration required.

    • Voices of Poetry: Back in Cambridge

      Main Library, Lecture Hall, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Join us for two hours of exceptional poetry featuring five prominent poets: Shari Caplan, Charles Coe, Jessica Cuello, Richard Hoffman, and Steve Kuusisto. Voices of Poetry was formed by Pushcart Prize-nominated poet and poetry activist Neil Silberblatt. Since 2012, VOP has presented more than 400 poetry events in NY, NJ, CT and MA. Registration is not required.
